The center of Smalltalk activity moved to IBM. I thought I should too. Although I traveled to a client site every week, I can't remember writing any code in my four months in this position.
My department reorganized. The politically astute pointed out we were now working for Blue Dollars, not Green Dollars. This didn't look good for the future of Smalltalk. Time to say good bye.
I learned later that some recruiter had gotten hold of my resume and claimed to represent me to IBM which was absolutely not true. The creep was the only winner in this brief episode.
