This is a term that I prefer for Ward's concept of a Federation Directory. It says what it does on the tin - I can picture it. ward has a page Site About Sites which says the same more explicitly - just does not quite trip off the tongue.

One idea is that the term Federation Directory is reserved for a single wiki-page that contains a lists sites as reference-items.
