Learning that has personal purpose and meaning is autopoietic – that is, a self-creating process.
As we seek to reimagine education, we are beginning to appreciate that autopoietic learning is at the root of learning that is _joyful_, that learning which can be both _fast_ and _deep_.

We recognize that this learning emerges through the synthesizing dynamics of Natural Order, Stigmergic Iteration and Spatial Vivacity.
We sense power in reclaiming the purpose of learning – from that which is done primarily for others (allopoietic – 'other-creating') to that which is primarily done for oneself (autopoietic – 'self-creating').
Perhaps, just perhaps, we might move from the old industrial model for our schools to a new one, one which has the potential to unleash the creative genius of each and every student.
