We claim a commission, that of Reclaiming Humanity in our schools, in our society, in our world. A commission that guides us, challenges us, gives us courage to do the hard work of transformation.
We see that others feel the truth of this commission, a truth filled with meaning.
For we, as animals, are naturally compassionate, we are able to feel the feelings of others. Feelings that are felt resonating in our hearts, shared spaces where we sense deep belonging.
But we are as a special kind of animal, a _homo sapien_, that has the capacity to develop meaning from those feelings, sapience, wisdom. Wisdom that can be abstracted and shared with others to develop collective wisdom.
We are Meaning Makers whose wisdom can create a legacy of impact far beyond personal connection.
If we are to reclaim our humanity, we now recognize that we must focus on cultivating our compassionate wisdom by relearning how to deeply listen to The Stories We Tell each other.
