Walking a path of Deep Learning challenges us to walk outside our existing schema. By so doing, we must face our fear of chaos.
We need to name the fear. Then have the courage to walk into it.
We have to become Comfortable being Uncomfortable.
Our spiritual, emotional, and intellectual well-being depends on the world making sense to us. That is, internalizing a pattern of meaning that provides a confidence of predictability.
Disrupting that schema through a Paradigm Shift threatens us with chaos, leading us into our deepest fears of losing control.
For a teacher who has taught using a traditional instructional model for many years, this fear is real. For a manager who has run a company using a hierarchical command and control structure, this fear is real.

But we cannot undertake this journey unless we have the psychologic safety that comes with an authentic trust with our leadership and team members.
