Cynefin, pronounced ku-*nev*-in, is a Welsh word that, according to Dave Snowden, signifies the multiple factors in our environment and our experience that influence us in ways we can never understand. Roughly meaning the place of our belonging. Snowden uses the term to designate a framework for identifying 3 different types of ontologies: Order, Complex, and Chaos – and the Phase Shift between them.
