As we venture forth on this quest, we are learning to trust our divining rod.
That twig held in the hand of the dowser.
It bends, at times, toward a mysterious stream under the surface. We stop, gather around, and then start digging. Hoping to unearth the water, that truth which is life giving.
Right now our intuition tells us that the stream we seek is within the interruption. The interruption of an individual developer when the tempo of programming stops because the path forward is not clear. The interruption of the system when there is an incident.
We sense that these two types of interruptions are related, even interrelated. Perhaps neither have a single root cause. Perhaps the way that we have understood is no longer adequate to understand.
Perhaps we need to pause, listen, and reimagine.
