Earth Day is an annual celebration that has taken place in April each year since 1970. The Earth Day Netowrk (EDN) announced the theme for Earth Day 2021 as:

# Wiki and the Environment
As part of the Wiki and the Environment theme we are proposing holding an online series of events linked to a number of physical events that are aimed to take place as Coronavirus restrictions are gradually lifted over the spring.
We aim to link these physical events together using the Home Studio technology that forms the heart of the Community Obeya Room.
# Music
We aim to produce a second iteration of the Sound Garden project, with a focus this time on interlinking conversations (podcasts), and working with a global network of DJ's and citizens.
We will use wiki to collect Earth Sounds, and look to build upon last years work by adding a live music channel, with breakout sound rooms in Discord.
# One Game, One World
We aim to launch a project focussing on the sustainability of of manufacturing and the global supply chain. As part of the wiki and the environment sprint, we will be working with partners from around the world to curate environmental data for the Green Wiki.
The focus of the project will be the manufacture of sports equipment and clothing. And we aim to start with footballs.
