At last Friday's panel discussion, I saw something I hadn't seen before, a movement in the making. It wasn't Jami and I doing our song and dance anymore, it was Jenny, a teacher, Bevin a student, Kyle, a vice superintendent, Jamie, another principal, all sharing powerful stories of transformation.
Of a new paradigm of learning.
It was as each each of us could finish the other's sentences.
There was no doubt about the importance of the work and its impact. There was passionate Wholehearted Commitment.
Reminds me of Arlo Guthrie's 18 minute anti-war song, _Alice's Restaurant Massacree_:
>And can you imagine fifty people a day? I said FIFTY people a day Walkin' in, singin' a bar of "Alice's Restaurant" and walkin' out? Friends They may think it's a Movement, and that's what it is THE Alices's Restaurant anti-massacree movement! And all you gotta do to join is to Sing it the next time it comes around on the guitar
It starts with First Follower, but then there is a tipping point and a movement is birthed.
