Metabolic Innovation

We imagine a cooperative game where players build networks from property graphs where various node types employ a fanciful version of chemistry to realize lifelike processes that delight their makers. science

# Physics

CPU cycles provide finite energy shared through a single model providing a practical limit to the model size. Small models react quickly, larger models less so.

The properties of merged nodes combine by weighted effect such that more recent additions can dominate. Connected nodes reinforce or inhibit as dictated by property logic. Disconnected networks operate independently except for their competition for cycles.

Players can view as much or as little of the shared model as they find convenient. Revisions of the model can be authored with the Injector using one or more schema designed specifically for the game. Non-game nodes and relations serve as inert commentary.

# Example

We revisit the Fox Hunting example. Here Sums and Deltas carry more of the computation burden.

The Prey, left alone, grows at a specified exponential rate.

Sum:Prey

The Predator hunts Prey and feeds on the kill.

Sum:Predator provides Delta:Kill which decreases Sum:Prey which provides Delta:Feed which increases Sum:Predator

A Delta accumulates influences and applies this to the benefit or detriment of Sums.
