Mind set is a combination of confidence, personality, empathy, approach/outlook. Different lens’ to look at the world. An architect looks at the world very differently than a botanist. Mind sets are grown through spending time in them, trying them on, like clothes. A student can only really spend time in these mindsets in an authentic way, solving problems while “wearing those clothes”. School should inspire a feeling of awe and wonder more, this creates an intrinsic curiosity and a reason to grow in mind set. Mind sets can be defined by constantly asking questions, to be constantly curious with an almost annoying level of confidence. We want students to be both sponges and sorting machines. The pinnacle of mindset could be stated as the entrepreneurial mind set. That is the ability to assess a situation for a need and how best to place themselves to fill that need, to make themselves useful and a needed component in the project.
