_Scattered thoughts: When I was editing Jess' page Being in the Grey this term 'natural learners' came to me and I sensed that it was important to explore and define. A quick search discovers that others have used this term – here and here . I also recently was intrigued by a recent connection to Jenny Finn in the Thrivable World group, learning about Springhouse , her school - where they use the language of nature (vitality & regenerating culture) as they reimagine education. _ _Lauren recently introduced me to the concept of mirror neurons through which babies learn – the neurons that allow a baby to mirror the activity of an adult. I began to ponder this idea of mirroring as our primal learning process. I then began to think about the difference between our experience of life when we mirror nature vs mirroring a machine. Learning that is organic and emerging - autopoietic, unlike traditional education that is structured as production line, mechanistic - allopoietic. I sense that we thrive when we mirror Natural Order as opposed to that which imprisons our spirit when we mirror mechanistic artificial order. _ _Might we then talk about what it means to be a 'natural learner' vs an 'artificial learner'? Not sure... more to explore and distill... _
natural learner -> natural order -> natural process (forming, healing and creating) -> natural beauty (whole good and delight)
