Pharo Smalltalk

Pharo Smalltalk is a fork of Squeak Smalltalk version 3.9, initiated in 2008.

The intent of the project founder, Stephane Ducasse, is to create a professional Smalltalk Language IDE that supports his computer science research. The project has attracted some Squeak users, including the Seaside Framework project, which, as of 2009, is now developed using Pharo.

1.0 beta was released in July 2009.

The current stable version is Pharo 9.0.0 (as of July 2021). github
