Schools in the Faculty of subsistence work
An anticipatory map.
**§1 Material landscape** - School of *wild commons* ' 'nature': oceans, climate systems, soil, the water cycle, ecosystems, first-growth forest, regions of biodiversity, etc etc
- School of *domestic commons* - the entire field of labour processes, in a Fordist sense. Provisioning of basic means of subsistence, in an industrialised and post-industrialised economy - food, accommodation, clothing, bodily care, health care and public health, land and public space, energy, transportation, etc etc. Many detailed domains
- School of *digital means* - digital infrastructure, digital media, digitally mediated venues of live mutual engagement, the commoning of digital infrastructure. The Golemic
**§2 Cultural landscape** - School of *machinery of exchange and contribution* - alternative moneys, systems of credit. Maybe, even hashchains.
- School of *machinery of access* aka law
- School of *machinery of provisioning* - supply chains, value chains, value networks, operations management, 'capital goods'
- School of *machinery of fairtrade* - economies of trade across global uneven development
- School of *machinery of rescue* - provisioning for catastrophes, disasters, urgent matters of survival
**§3 Aesthetic landscape** - School of *waste* - feral nature: stuff that once was thought to be domesticated, asserting its wildness
- School of *nano* - stuff below the threshold of perception, and on the horizon of technological capability: gene tech, mood tech, nuclear tech and elementary particles, literal nanotech
- School of *prosthetics and symbiosis* - stuff we need to have to-hand (including cyborg forms), life-forms that team-up with life-forms, stuff we get addicted to and unwisely dependent on (super-processed food, smartphones, digital media, transcontinental travel, etc)
