While learning, it is often beneficial to see in advance an overview of the upcoming content. This approach is called advanced organization, showing new concepts first so that when they are encountered later, in perhaps an unfamiliar context, the learner will not be taken aback by novelty.

Cognitively, an advanced organizer [⇒ Advance Organizer] allows the subconscious to process the new ideas and to lay a mental Scaffolding that accommodates Change. Our bodies do instantly understand the difference between Inside and Outside. Our skin is a very compelling (and built-in) Model of a Boundary. It’s our Cognition that needs reminding.
