Vicious Cycle

The traditional notion of an “arms race” has no widely agreed upon definition, but is used in international relations to refer to a competition between two or more states in the development and production of military arms.

This gene is a member of the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. It encodes a heparin-binding protein, which exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer.

In contrast to the Deterrence Theory, proponents of the spiral model claim that the prescriptions associated with deterrence theory frequently lead to vicious cycles of reciprocated conflict.
