During my conversation today with Ward, we dived into a discussion of data. In particular, the use of patterns to find meaning in data.
The tools that Ward is using to visualized patterns in data are incredibly powerful.
In our discussion, we talked about something one might call the Virtual Cycle of Discovery that is defined by: - Insight - Meaning - Curiosity
By visualizing the data, one is able to gain Insight into data relationships. By applying that insight to a larger organizational context, one can find Meaning in that insight.
This meaning opens the door to new questions, our Curiosity then leads us into those doorways of new discovery.
