Patrick Henry Winston is a professor at the MIT AI Lab. You can find his AI Lab home page here: www.ai.mit.edu
There are online videos of a short AI course he gave at www.aduni.org
Many students learned Lisp Language from his introductory book, Lisp (ISBN 0201083191), commonly referred to as Winston And Horn.
He now has one called On to Java (ISBN 0201725932) at www.ai.mit.edu . The code in it looks more like Lisp than any other Java Language code out there. :-)
He has another book called On To Smalltalk (ISBN 0201498278).
Also On to C [Cee Language] (ISBN 020158042X) and On to C++ [Cee Plus Plus] (ISBN 0201580438). Plus Artificial Intelligence (ISBN 0201533774).
In his spare time, he founded Ascent Technology in Cambridge, Mass. Ira Cooper can tell you more about it.
Ascent cannot be that great of a company, for they use @#&! Flash on their website. (www.ascent.com Flash Alert) At least the site is navigable without Macromedia Flash, and you don't have to sit through a Flash splash before landing on the main page.
