Creating a full blown interactive multimedia studio is traditionally a complex task - essentially we need to create a live TV studio together with interactive software elements such as virtual sets, green screen studio, augmented reality, and then we need to add the ability to. publish to multiple formats and ultimately fully interactive immersive formats.
However it is now possible to produce highly professional home studios based largely on existing technology that is commonly available to people around the world. We can use: - smart phones as high quality live camera's - heap HDMI based camcorders - raspberry pi's and low cost embedded systems - repurposed old video equipment - recycled computers and found objects

What makes this integration possible is a convergence of technologies, and in particular the availability of a couple of affordable components from Blackmagic Design that for the first time allow us to bridge the gap between low end consumer equipment and fully professional broadcast studios.

# NDI The secret sauce that hold all this together is NDI. While there are other ways of sending video around the set, NDI is looking the best for a home studio (and professional) setup.
# WebRTC Thanks to the great OBS.ninja project we get remarkably good results using WebRTC to connect applications and media across rooms.
This enables us to bring shared desktops and web cams into OBS and indeed any programming environment that can display a web browser for use in our multimedia productions.
In addition we have the full power of javascript and modern web techniques to manipulate the video sources and presentation - this gives us a strong foundation for programatic control over the distributed video sources.
