Representation

In this wiki we're concerned with means and practices of integrated plural representation: textual, graphical/iconic and algorithmic. And specifically, with Federated Wiki as a wonderful way of working across this range.

The intent of this dialect is to Provide an Explorable Space, where the structure of the form, and therefore the structure of arithmetic, can be experienced. Representation can be either an Environment or an Object.

Representation and Meaning are different sides of the same Boundary.

Representations can reflect the Meanings of the Concepts for which they stand. Because they are continuous, it is possible to represent shades of meaning, and cate­gory memberships become a matter of Degree.

*Structure Sharing* is different than structural abstraction. Sharing joins together multiple references to the same form, while Abstraction ignores selected features. Human prejudice probably does not apply to structure sharing since sharing is a property of representation rather than reality. We do have Patent Laws that adjudicate cases of structure sharing in creative works.

Meaning is the universal medium of all psychic and social systems, i.e., the medium for all forms [→Medium/Form] that are generated in these systems. In the medium of meaning, any operation of the system refers to other possibilities of operation production, which remain in the background of what is produced.
